November 8th, 2011: Fit to be Tan, LLC has announced plans to expand to a third location in February 2012. The third location will be in the Reston area and will serve the Dulles Corridor clientele base, from McLean to Ashburn and beyond. More location news as it comes.
November 1st, 2011: Fit to be Tan, Arlington announces the addition of a new product line. The Evolv heated spray system heats its tanning solution as its applied. Its perfect for the winter months when the cool-application of our normal spray system may leave you shivering! The system feels much like a hair dryer warming up. Evolv's solution offerings also include a Pre-spray moisterizing treatment, a post-spray extended tan setter, and an accelerator that sets your tan in just 4 hours! October 26th 2011: Fit to be Tan, LLC has signed an agreement to open a second location! We are excited to welcome the team of Paul Corrie and Steve Ewens to the Family; they will be the operators of FTBT-DC, scheduled to open in February 2012. The DC location will be located in the Dupont Circle area, convenient to the Metro Red-Line. We hope this new location better serves our DC base and will open up the Red-Line base of Bethesda and Chevy Chase residents who may have difficulties driving down to our Arlington location. More news as we have it.
July 13th, 2011: Fit to be Tan has been notified that our studio been chosen to be included in InStyle Magazine's 2011 Blackbook, that will be featured in our October 2011 issue. We have been chosen as Washington DC's Best Tanning Salon. We were anonymously nominated and we are honored by our selection!
May 30th, 2011: Fit to be Tan does its biggest week of business ever in preparation for the 2011 Memorial Day Weekend holiday. We welcome all our new clients!
March 1st, 2011: Fit to be Tan is proud to be a supporting sponsor of the Fashion for Paws Runway show & Benefit on April 9th, 2011 at the National Building Museum in Washington DC. Fit to be Tan is providing free tanning for the runway models who are volunteering their time. This even raises funds for the Washington DC Humane Society, an organization very close to our hearts as dog-owners and dog-lovers. Tickets are available online and are very affordable for such a good cause.
November 15th 2010: Fit to be Tan is pleased to announce the addition of master Esthetician Massy Bagherzadeh, joining Fit to be Tan from the (now closed) Natural Body in Ballston. Massy will be providing a full selection Skin Care, Facial, and Waxing personal services. She was recently featured in Allure magazine and we are happy to have her on board with the Fit to be Tan family. October 15th 2010: Fit to be Tan announces a partnership with massage therapist Erica Williams, formerly of Natuaral Body in Ballston, to provide massage services onsite at Fit to be Tan's Clarendon Studio, starting on November 1st, 2010. July 1st, 2010: The Tan Tax, part of the Obama administration's new Health Care Bill, goes into effect. The tan tax levies a 10% surcharge on UV-ray tanning beds in most locations. Spray Tans are NOT taxed.
May 15th, 2010: Fit to be Tan has an open house at its new Studio location to introduce Dr. Samantha Toerge, sample some wines with Dean & DeLuca, and to introduce the space to clients who haven't had a chance to come by.
March 31st, 2010: Fit to be Tan is featured on LivingSocial.com and sells more than 600 specially priced tans! We welcome all our new customers!
March 23rd, 2010: Fit to be Tan officially moves its Arlington, VA Studio Location to a storefront retail space. Our new address is 3124 N. 10th street and is located on the busy 10th street corridor as it runs between Wilson and Washington Boulevards.
December 31st, 2009: Fit to be Tan does its biggest week of business to date in preparation for the 2009 New Years Eve galas.
November 4th, 2009: Fit to be Tan is featured in Groupon, a Collective Buying Power website/online community that features deals in and around Washington. We set a buying record in our business classification by selling 377 51% off deals in a 24 hour period. See the Online Group On Coupon for more information. If you missed out, no worries! We've been asked back and will feature again in April 2010.
August 23rd, 2009: Fit to be Tan announces our inclusion of a new line of products from EnvyTan. We will now use "best of breed" clear and bronzer solutions to improve the air brush tanning experience for our customers. EnvyTan also offers a full line of tan extendor, exfoliation and spray tan additives (Spray Tan scents!) that we will be introducing over the next few weeks. Read more in our October Newsletter.
June 22th, 2009: You can now follow Fit to be Tan on both Facebook and on Twitter. We hope to use both sites to help keep our customer base informed about topics of interest (skin care, sun facts, etc) as well as events at the studio and last minute savings!
June 12th, 2009: Fit to be Tan is featured in the Washington Post Express in a feature comparing and contrasting different methods of sunless tanning. We were the airbrush vendor of choice, and the WP staff member loved her tan!
April 9th, 2009: Fit to be Tan, Washington DC's first Airbrush-only Studio, relocates to its new Clarendon location. Click here for the press release.
September 2007: Moon Tans, Inc is selected as Fit to be Tan's primary supplier of tanning solutions. Moon Tans is also the solution provider for the Washington Redskins Cheerleaders.
